There’s no shortage of options for those wanting to hide their old curtains from being burnt or splattered with dirt, so how do you do it?
You can buy a couple of cheap ones or buy one of those fancy ones, and then put them up in a very small, inconspicuous area on the wall.
“I do a lot of work in my home, especially in the bedroom and kitchen,” said the homeowner, who asked not to be named.
“And I’ve had to buy curtains with some kind of cover, and I’ve got to remove it when I get home from work or something.”
But when the sun is shining, they’ll be covered by the white curtain material.
“There are a couple people who have got them painted, and you can put the curtains up in your bathroom or whatever,” she said.
“You can have them on your balcony or whatever.”
The curtains are made of aluminium, but they’re also made of plastic and are supposed to last for up to 10 years.
It’s best to keep them away from heat, humidity, pets and the elements, but if you’re really paranoid about how they’ll react in the event of an accident, you can buy them in a safe-deposit box.
The homeowner said the curtains had never failed her and were the only curtains she’s ever used.

“It’s not a bad idea to have the curtains there, you just need to put them out.”
The homeowner has since used the curtains to keep her children, now aged 11 and 14, from playing outside.
“It was very cool,” she laughed.
It’s a safe way to keep your curtains up and prevent your children from touching them, but it’s not cheap, so if you want to buy them, be aware of their longevity.
